The Revenues Service, run on behalf of Liverpool City Council by Liverpool Direct Limited, has been selected as a finalist for ‘Team of the Year’ at this year’s Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation (IRRV) 2010 Performance Awards.
The Revenues team is responsible for the collection and enforcement of all debts owed to the City Council. Over the past year Liverpool Direct Limited’s Revenues Service has gone from strength to strength. In 2009/10 the Revenues Service collected £345million which is 6.74 % more than 2008/09. Furthermore, the Business Rates Team collected 98.8% despite the economic recession.
As part of the IRRV Awards submission criteria the Revenues Service successfully demonstrated ways in which it had continued raise the standards of service to achieve high levels of performance, customer satisfaction and effective administrative procedures.
Cllr Joe Anderson, Leader of Liverpool City Council said: “I'm delighted that Liverpool Direct Limited’s Revenues Service has been announced as a finalist for ‘Team of the Year’ at the IRRV Awards. Following a rigorous on-site audit of the service area this news celebrates and recognises the determination of a team who has risen to the challenge. This is a real team effort with the Revenue Service, One Stop Shops and the Contact Centre really leading the way, but let’s not forget the support of colleagues from ICT, HR&P and of course the Benefit Service teams.
I am delighted the Revenues Service will be representing the City of Liverpool and Liverpool Direct Limited at such a prestigious Awards Ceremony."
Following the successful awards submission in May, a team of inspectors from the IRRV visited Liverpool Direct Limited. The site audit included a tour of the Revenues Service, Contact Centre and the City Centre One Stop Shop and managers delivered presentations on the Revenues Service. It was following this visit that the IRRV announced Liverpool Direct Limited as a finalist.
The IRRV is the largest professional institution operating in the field of revenues, benefits and valuation. The Gala Dinner is taking place on 30th September where the winners will be announced.
This latest announcement arrives as Liverpool Direct Limited recently celebrated being shortlisted as a finalist at the North West Contact Centre Awards and prior to that as a finalist at the Customer Contact Association Awards, taking the total number of awards Liverpool Direct Limited has been shortlisted for to five.
