LDL employee picks up ICT Service and Support Professional of the Year Award

Liverpool Direct Limited found victory by scooping yet another award at the British Computer Society (BCS) UK IT Industry Awards.
Mark Porton, Programme and Service Manager at Liverpool Direct Limited’s ICT Service won the title of ICT Service & Support Professional of the Year at the award ceremony in Battersea Park Events Arena, London.
The award recognises individuals who provide IT Service, Support to users of IT systems, demonstrate outstanding achievement and commitment, meet key objectives for quality, customer satisfaction and delivery of agreed service levels.
The Leader of Liverpool City Council and Director of Liverpool Direct Limited, Warren Bradley, said: “We are absolutely delighted that Mark returns to Liverpool with this prestigious title. Mark is a true asset to the team at Liverpool Direct Limited and this award recognises the quality of work and sheer commitment from one of our dedicated employees. The ICT Support at the ACC Liverpool is vital and Mark and his team carry out a tremendous job in delivering a high quality service and meeting the customer’s expectations on time, every time.”
As part of the Liverpool Arena and Convention team Mark and his team of ICT engineers are responsible for maintaining the ICT infrastructure, ICT Support, online ticketing system and customer relationship between LDL and the client. Mark has headed up the team at the arena since the start of the contract with Liverpool Direct Limited and has significant experience in managing and delivery projects and is often managing several projects at any one time due to the high volume of conferences, events and exhibitions.
Mark’s successful portfolio of high profile events at the ACC Liverpool includes; the MTV Awards, BBC Sport Personality of the Year, British Squash Open, Beyonce, Pink, Girls Aloud and Diana Ross concerts, the NHS Confederation Conference, British Medical Association Annual Conference, Summer Pops, Davis Cup and the TUC Annual Conference.
The BCS Awards creates a platform for the entire UK IT profession to showcase and celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence.
