LDL short listed for the prestigious UK Business Excellence Award

The British Quality Foundation has announced that Liverpool Direct Limited has been short listed for the leading UK Business Excellence Award. The Award is the highest accolade to be gained nationally.
The UK Excellence Award was launched in 1994 to recognise organisations which have excelled when measured against a framework of excellence, The Excellence Model. The Model is used successfully throughout Europe and beyond as a rigorous external structure to examine an organisation's current capability.
The process is exacting and rigorous. Commencing in March 2009, the process included a detailed 75 page submission of evidence that addresses the nine key business areas of the Excellence Model. The assessment process saw a team of five external assessors visit Liverpool Direct Limited for a full week. Staff across Liverpool Direct Limited were involved in focus groups, one to ones and group discussions.
There are four other finalists. The winner of the Award will be announced at an Awards ceremony held in London during October 2009.
Councillor Warren Bradley, Leader of Liverpool City Council and a Board Director of Liverpool Direct Limited stated:
