Council Leader Warren Bradley adds new vision to the Board of LDL
Date: 04/08/2009
Councillor Warren Bradley, Leader of Liverpool City Council, has joined the Board of Liverpool Direct Limited as a non-executive Director.
Warren was elected Leader of Liverpool City Council in May 2000, has been involved in politics for most of his life, and played a major role in the 1998 electoral victory for the Liberal Democrats, when they became the administration in Liverpool.
“As Leader of the City Council, I am responsible for the city vision, inward investment, civic and heritage issues. I believe business is the key to the continued success of the City and I have been instrumental in starting the dialogue regarding the future of the agencies in Liverpool,” said Warren.
His commitment and determination to make Liverpool an even more dynamic, vibrant and connected city can only help Liverpool Direct Limited in its development, growth and continued success and will play a crucial role in focusing the energies towards driving forward performance and delivery to the benefit of all of our customers.
In 2006 he was announced as the 'Business Champion' for the City by the private sector, City Growth Board. In addition, Warren sits on many key Boards across the City including; Liverpool Vision, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society, the Mersey Partnership, North-West vision and is a Governor on a number of local schools.
Chris Sayers, Director BT Local Government and Chair of Liverpool Direct Limited said: "I am pleased Warren has agreed to take on this important role. This is great news for Liverpool Direct Limited.
“Warren is very committed to his home town of Liverpool and will make a powerful contribution in ensuring the City and Liverpool Direct Limited continues to grow and succeed. With Warren’s full support we will continue to put all our customers at the heart of everything we do and to reach even greater heights. I am sure you will join me in welcoming Warren to the Board of Liverpool Direct Limited".
Warren has stated on many occasions his desire to drive the City forward across all areas and to make Liverpool ‘The Premier City’. Attending his first Liverpool Direct Limited Board Meeting on 28 July 2009 Warren added:
"Liverpool Direct Limited is all about making a difference to the lives of the residents, visitors and businesses of Liverpool. It has helped transform many City Council services not least revenues, careline, benefits, contact centre and One Stop Shops. We have come a long way in a short period of time.
My desire is to take us all further for the benefit of all of Liverpool. My goal is about making Liverpool Direct Limited even more customer and business friendly and build on its current successes. Developing new business will be critical and I will play my part in making this happen.”
